Daniel Weiss

Originally from the Midwest, Daniel moved to Boston in 2013. Daniel earned their MSW in macro social work from Boston University School of Social Work, and their bachelor’s in Philosophy from Stony Brook University in New York. Their main areas of interest are in program planning and evaluation. Prior to joining GLAD in June 2015, Daniel’s work has included suicide prevention services at Samaritans, Inc. where they provided direct support to individuals as well as training and supervision to volunteers. Most recently, their work has focused on increasing educational supports and opportunities to LGBTQ youth and young adults. Daniel is the former student representative for the Boston University School of Social Work Curriculum Committee and the former intern at Stony Brook University’s Center for Prevention and Outreach where they co-created a Safe Space workshop targeted at faculty, staff, and students. They also served as the President of the Stony Brook LGBTA. When not working, Daniel is also an amateur knitter, and an aspiring baker and confectioner!
